Delighted to be firmly back in the country long enough to take up our usual stance at our 3rd Envirolution, we swam our way through the day with buzzy clusters of the usual enthusiastic parky pedallers, all wanting a turn to help power the stage of the day. The festival was once again positioned perfectly between the heart shaped lake and the green pulse of the Eco Garden; which was bursting with so much new life after months of volunteer sessions pounding away at the dirt making way for abundances of growth. The event was bigger and better than ever, with thirsty new introductions from quantities of eager activists from across the Manchester board. With great music + performances, came workshops, demonstrations, discussions [+debates!], ginormous painting on the big hill + most importantly, hoards of participants lapping up everything on offer; all carefully designed to raise awareness and encourage action to make the many miles of Manchester and beyond – so very much more sustainable. What a hugely reassuring reminder that there exists this evolving plentitude of focus groups striving for the same objectives, but an important addition that the great Envirolution event is trying to encourage – is that this eco intended behaviour needs to exist all year round, not just on celebratory awareness days such as this. Great work guys and thanks for having us on the team. We can’t wait for the fourth installment next Spring !
