F I N A L L Y : is Spring here, then? Setting up the event in the rain that morning, it sure didn’t feel like it… But to our wonder, the skies stop being pests + let us get on with our first event of the season : HOLI, LEAP into SPRING + COLOURFUL [...]

It’s because the last Live Art : Live Art was such a stonking success, that the wonders at Akemi Arts decided to treat the people of Manchester once again. Another all-round splendour of a line-up spilled out of Contact Theatre, luring non-stop participation from enthralled audiences trying their hands at life drawing, scrawling on huge [...]

Fancy Town Hall carpets and rusting bicycles; a wonderful visual

>>MANCHESTER : WE ARE WELL<<

December 9, 2010

So out in the snow we went, skidding and slurping our way on the treacherous roads to the Town Hall, our precious kit clinging onto ropey trailers for dear pedal-power life. But arrive we did! And a fine honour it was to scrape our muddy filthy bicycles through the immaculate grand corridors of this prestigious [...]

~~ENVIROLUTION~~

November 8, 2010

A brief time-out from the I Bike MCR mini fest led us to Envirolution : Contact Theatre’s EXTREME ECO event blissfully placed on a spectacularly sunny Autumn Saturday; which we were super happy to get to spin sounds in (whilst watching a waste sculpture being progressively created).  It seemed as though every single Manchester based [...]

~Pedal Powered JUKE BOX+home-made bicycle trailers~

August 23, 2010

It took us a few community gigs to realise that the young lads + lasses of today weren’t impressed at all by our strange musical choices: “why would we wanna pedal to hear that rubbish?”- fair enough- so we thought we’d give them an incentive to pedal.. Pick your favourite song off our jukebox list- [...]

~~25,000 girlguides @ Fusion:1/2 of them on our bicycles~~

August 6, 2010

..well perhaps not that many but we sure were SUBLIMELY SWAMPED in singing cyclists! Swarms of eager young ladies huddled around our tent eagerly awaiting to perform with their pedal powered bands which they had formed. This was the official launch of Karao-eco: it was Fusion Festival a.k.a The Girl Guides national Centenary celebratory event.
