It was one of those all round biking affairs that make you sit back on your saddle, power a custom made bicycle horror film and beam your vision around the community cycle loving evening that is buzzing all around you.

The night was stormy, freezing and pouring with rain. We got a phone call from Critical Mass who were ending their monthly ride at our event in the pitch black but lantern illuminated Platt Fields Park… “Can we come to the dry Boathouse yet please” they asked with a tone of soggy desperation in their voices; so with that, the rig-up preparation for the evening would have to do and we welcomed hundreds of drenched bikers to our unusual spooky evening. Hot veggie curries welcomed the riders, made by the delicious Season’s Eatings and Coffee Cranks made sure their cargo bike coffee machine was whirling in steaming action to prevent the masses from sneezing fits.

We began the pedal powered antics for the evening with fun tunes + short bike films to create the mood for the commencing premiere of ‘Chained Massacre’ – a last minute concoction of attempted spooky cycling shots fused with sinister music to create this year’s bike horror film; made lovingly by one of our team in the sheepish late stages of the run up to the event itself. Watch it, if you dare….. !

A few film stills from ‘Chained Massacre’, for your amusement…
